מֵיתָא, מֵתאII m. (infin. of אֲתָא) coming. Targ. 1 Sam. 16:4 מֵיתָךְ ed. Lag. (ed. Wil. מַתְיָךְ); a. fr.Gen. R. s. 60 (ref. to בא מבא, Gen. 24:62) אתא ממ׳וכ׳ he came from coming? Where did he go to?Pl. מֵיתַיָּא (with sing, sense; cmp. מֵעֲלָא). Targ. O. Gen. 24:62 מֵיתוֹהִי).Gitt.30a לא שמיה מתיא this is not called ‘coming home (as fulfilling the condition).
